Reinvigorating the client...

Our client approached us because even though they had an approved planning scheme for a 50sqm single storey rear extension, they were not ‘bowled over’ by the design.

Communication had been poor by the previous ‘professional’ and even though the scheme provided them with what they needed (larger kitchen dining area etc) it definitely didn’t provide them with what they wanted (an innovative and vibrant space from which to enjoy entertaining and their garden)
A new scheme was designed based on the existing building footprint but which created a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces. Utilising glass and timber to form a soft, tactile yet very modern language, the clients were ‘reinvigorated’ by the whole design process.
A planning application was submitted and approved by Reading Borough Council with no objections or issues despite the highly modern approach.
Works are expected to start in the summer…
