After several years of study, travel, internships and exchanges, Michael earned his Masters degree in Architecture from RMIT Melbourne in 2013. His experience since then has taken him from Australia to Austria and the UK, working in a variety of large, medium and small firms. Before joining Tait Architects, Michael was a key member in the design team of a large Vienna based office ATP, collaborating on several competition winning entries for large commercial and institutional projects across Europe.
He has been involved with several types of projects around the world looking to improve his experience and knowledge before applying for registration. He joined Tait Architects hungry for a challenging role to develop his experience in construction and aesthetic detailing and quickly became a strong part of the office team.
Michael’s experience with competition schemes on a quick turnover has helped him develop a pragmatic view of architecture and architectural production. He is constantly looking at ways to improve efficiency and accuracy of his work, whether through programmatic automation to file structuring or creating the perfect sandwich. Through his diverse experiences, he often brings new and sometimes quirky ideas to his workplace, such as office social events like group lunches or outings and encouraging cycling to work and office gardens.
