Our
Approach

Our proposals include a sympathetic yet modern extension, utilising the space over the exisitng garage.  Using existing materials, such as brick and clay tile but configured in a striking and contemporary way this extension transforms the appearance of the original house, bringing it up to date.

A new triangular chimney will provide a feature fireplace within the existing part of the house while echoing the forms of the new elements, giving cohesion between the old and new areas.

3D modelling was used to present the design rationale to the local planning authority, providing a good insight into how the building will look on completion.

Vaulted high ceilings in the first floor extension give a feeling of spaciousness and the wrap over glazing cutting round the extended form will allow generous amounts natural light into the new spaces.

Attention to detail, such as concealed gutters, subtly upgrade the building's appearance and create a contemporary addition to this family home.
